The S-CORE, ‘setcom - conformance and research’ is a single hardware test solution designed to meet the challenging needs of developing 3GPP devices, reference designs, protocol stacks and chipsets.
S-CORE enables developers to test signalling performance and compliance from the physical layer (PHY) and wireless protocol layers all the way up the device stack to the network services, multi-media and application layers.

Initially focussed at accelerating development of 3GPP compliant LTE/E-UTRAN devices, the S-CORE supports the full 20MHz bandwidth, the complete range of modulation schemes up to 64QAM, intra- and inter-system handover testing between E-UTRAN, GERAN and UTRAN and MIMO 2x2 expandable to MIMO 4x4.
Through a scripting interface or a high level drop and drag approach, complex test scenarios involving GERAN, UTRAN and E-UTRAN messaging are easily created and executed in a repeatable lab based environment. Network traces, logs and diagnostic information are created for each test run, clearly identifying errors and unexpected behaviour, thereby speeding up bug resolution and reducing the time it takes to test.
A conformance test specific Graphical User Interface (GUI) provides support for the 3GPP TTCN-3 tool chain for executing the full portfolio of GSM, (E)GPRS, WCDMA and LTE signalling test cases, required to gain device certification at GCF and PTCRB. Conformance test cases can run either individually or in campaigns of multiple signalling test cases at the click of a button, PICS files can be simply edited allowing test cases to be executed in an automated campaign, thereby reducing resource overheads and time to market.
With low latency and high data rates key to the successful up take of LTE, the analysis and combined testing of the complete device stack from the PHY and wireless protocol layers, including the Enhanced Packet Core (EPC), network services, multi-media and applications is critical to proving and measuring the performance of tri-mode GSM, WCDMA, LTE devices.
